Art Show on and around my home (Photo credit Cecilia Simon)

Here’s a tour of the show:

This past weekend I had one of the most meaningful showings of my art career. As part of a neighborhood art walk I hung my paintings on my house and all around my front yard (something I’ve never done before).

Sometimes, when I’m painting, I notice that I am in a deep spiritual place. The movement of my strokes are in rhythm with the piece, my body is moving with the painting. My psyche is fully, but quietly engaged. It seems my soul itself has entered a state of bliss…

Nothing makes me happier than making art and allowing words to flow. This little drawing is me thinking. 😎
I’m thinking about re-starting my blog. What do I want it to be, to say, to reveal, to share? I have ideas but also want to make my readers happy, add to their lives in my own small way.
What do you want to hear, to talk about? Is it color, nature, the art process as I experience it? Or how-to? A combination? I hope you’ll tell me so I can gently lower it into… the pot and stir, considering all along the way. I hope you’ll comment here or email me with your thoughts: I’m so grateful for the people who have signed on to receive my blog, currently called 5 Ways to Art.

I want to thanks Plaza Art for this lovely interview and the upcoming interactive book reading I’ll be doing at their Bethesda, Md. store this Saturday 1–2:00. The flyer is posted below. Yay Art!!!

Finding peace in imperfections

Work in progress…

What I feel like I need to explain… about making abstract artwork… Something new that’s never been here before. How am I supposed to know what that is? It’s a total process of discovery. It’s often a process of put it down take it away put it down take it…

painting in progress

This painting is a work in progress. I don’t usually share works in process since they’re not done and so, not ready for viewing, but I thought I’d post this one, unfinished as it is, and share a little bit about the process- my process, anyway.
